Help my delivery has gone to my old address

I stupidly placed an order and it went to my old address. Help - what can I do ?
I've paid by credit card and on the tracking it doesn't appear that my order has been returned either.

I suspect that the new owners have kept my stuff - and unfortunately it was an expensive order :-(

Did you contact the new owners?

yogasam · 11/11/2024 23:33

Erm.... you make contact with the new owners / tenants?

Wow that's a leap. Considering you haven't even contacted them - which is surely the first thing you'd do - how do you know they're not holding on to it for a couple of days to give you the chance to contact them or they could have returned them.

Assuming they're dishonest is unfair

This happened us, we called for it and they had it waiting for us x

Whaleandsnail6 · 12/11/2024 07:21

This hapened to us in reverse...we were the new owners who got the parcel.

I didnt have contact details for the old owners so I contacted the company, who sent me a new shipping label. The day before I was going to post the item back to the company, the old owners turned up at the door and I gave them the parcel.

So maybe try emailing the company to see if they have had any contact with new owners and also try going to old house to see if its there

secretbumworms · 12/11/2024 07:26

And you've been round to check? Asked one of your old neighbours to check?

ShodAndShadySenators · 12/11/2024 08:22

I did this too with a company I hadn't used in a while. The parcel went to my old address and the new owner's workmen accepted it and put it on one side. I remember going to the new owner's old address to collect it from her and apologise for the error. Your new owners are probably waiting for you to get in touch or pop along to them to collect it, rather than sending it back. It doesn't mean they intend to keep it from you.
The onus is on you to collect it, not just wait and see

I did this and thankfully the new residents returned it. I sent a letter to the address with my mobile and they got back to me. However, my sil bought us something for last Christmas which went to our old address, and the new people kept it!

We had DPD turn up with a parcel for the person we brought our house from and I just refused to take it. I always check the name and address before taking a parcel purely because I don’t want to be lumbered with someone’s missing stuff. A neighbor did pop round to pick up parcel I just told them I’d refused delivery as it wasn’t mine.
