Just that really. My thoughts go out to the families and community today.

Yes, agreed. But some folks just love to toss in a voice of dissent. I think they think it makes them look less like a credulous sheeple. Or summat.

I've just been catching up on this case. My heart breaks for the girls and their families and friends. It's was a heinous crime. They suffered unimaginable pain and suffering at the hands of RA. An absolute barbaric act.

From what I've read, it's the lack of DNA evidence that people are querying. How he managed to leave no DNA at the scene and how no DNA from the girls could be found in connection to him. However, the latter can be explained by the passage of time. No other unidentified male DNA was found at the scene. He somehow contained it.

In the majority (over 75%) of murder cases the perpetrator leaves no DNA. It is possible RA only touched the girls to kill them. Add to that a very bloody crime scene and it's pretty easy to see why no third party DNA was found.

It is much more likely that the perpetrator would have the victim's DNA (ie blood) on him than the other way around. But of course you'd want to identify your suspect a lot more quickly , or you'd have to be very lucky to find DNA after so many years.
