How would Secret Santa work in these circumstances?

2 families getting together for Christmas. Family 2 will be at Family 1's home.

Family 1 in the UK: mum, dad, 20YO DS, 17 YO DD
Family 2 in Spain: mum, dad, 23YO DD and 26YO DD

How would the names get drawn out?

Use an online secret santa name generator

I used Elfster for our secret santa. Really simple and easy to use for those ages as they will all have their own email address.

Use an online thing and it sends everyone a link, you click and it’ll select a name for you. Our family uses drawnames .fr because the chief organiser is French but I’m sure there are English versions. Although this year we’re scrapping the whole thing and we’re doing White Elephant instead because it’s way more fun!

We use Draw Names. You can share gift lists and ask anonymous questions. You can also share kids gift lists even if they're not participating in the secret Santa bit.

What is white elephant?

Everyone brings a present (set a value in advance), they go in the middle, first person chooses a gift at random and unwraps it, second person can then choose to steal the gift from person 1 or choose a wrapped one from the pile, second person can steal or pick and so on until everyone has a present and then optional but the way we play it is at the end the person who went first gets one more chance to swap their present with anyone, since they didn’t get a chance to steal during the game!

(Hope that makes sense, if it doesn’t then google can probably explain it better than me!)

I like the sound of that actually!

I've played the white elephant game, didn't know it was called that, it's a great game but we didn't unwrap the gifts going along, people could pick a gift from the centre or steal from someone else but not know what they've stolen, if that makes sense, fun to play though.
