Anyone managed to return underwear to Sports Direct?

Due to a breakdown in communication also knows as DH didn't listen we have both bought DS new pants from sports direct. They are in a box and the box is unopened. Google tells me they still won't refund but has anyone managed to do it. I don't really want to haul myself back over to Sports Direct if it's going to be a blanket no.

Surely just use them? It’s only one box of pants, having a few extra isn’t the end of the world.

Most places don’t exchange underwear.

QueSyrahSyrah · 10/11/2024 19:12

Sports Direct don't do refunds at all AFAIK, only credit notes.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 10/11/2024 19:12

I bought some expensive sloggi pants from John Lewis. The lady told me on the till I cannot return even if I haven’t worn them so no I don’t think you would be able to return them

gamerchick · 10/11/2024 19:12

Can never have enough knickers imo.

GrumpyCactus · 10/11/2024 19:14

Why can you just use them? You can never have too many pants.

herecomesautumn · 10/11/2024 19:17

I don't know know anywhere that would take underwear as a return

As PP have said, you can't have too many pants so why not keep them

IamChipmunk · 10/11/2024 19:19

Yes I did last year because I accidentally bought the wrong size. They only accepted the return because I argued the packaging was very badly damaged ( which was true, the pants were hanging out! I didn't mention they were the wrong size though) and I expected the same quality that I would have chosen in store...
Was a very tenuous argument and I had to be very persistent. I think they eventually agreed to get rid of me on the online chat!!

Had the packaging not been damaged they would have refused as the T&Cs do state no returns for underwear unless faulty...

You could sell on Vinted as brand new.

dementedpixie · 10/11/2024 19:28

I bought a swimsuit for dd from sports direct and then told me at the desk that it couldn't be returned

They likely will refuse it and even if they did accept it you would get a credit note not your money back

No shops give refunds on underwear.
As others have said - just use them 🤷

Littlebittiredoflife · 10/11/2024 19:34

I've returned knickers ordered online to m and s before. But I agree sports direct are rubbish anyway.

Littletreefrog · 10/11/2024 19:37

Yes this is as I expected. Oh well. Yes I fully get the just use them argument but these are £28 Calvin Klein pants for Christmas and I didn't really want to pay £56 for pants! He usually gets Tesco pants.

You could probably sell on Facebook/Vinted etc to get some money back.

As I discovered this weekend, having spent £50! Had I known about this perfectly legal policy, I obviously wouldn’t have spent the money.

Boxfuls · 30/09/2025 09:41

Sports Direct don't refund anything, only credit notes.

There's no requirement on any retailer to let you return things, just because you've changed your mind/they don't fit. When I was young M&S were famously the only shop that did and there were always massive queues for returns after Christmas

Put them away for next year...
