John Lewis free Quality Street reward?

I have had my JL rewards email through today, one is that you can have some free Quality Street (one flavour) and to bring your own tin - Does anyone know if you can bring any tin, or if it has to particularly be an old QS tin, as I haven't got one of those?

It'll tell you more in the T&C's, mine doesn't say free anywhere & T&C's say there's a cost involved.

According to the bargains thread in 'christmas' it's not free. It's just that you can choose (and pay for!) one colour sweet instead of three.

I was also wondering this OP. It says there's a cost for the QS special branded tin but also that you can use a pre-used tin - and doesn't specify that it has to be QS. I'm not quite sure.

It’s not free , the ‘reward’ is being able to select all one sweet whereas usually you have to pick a mix of 3 . I’ve not read the small print but I imagine it’s QS tins only or you have to buy the tin .

I have the JL personalised tin but our JL stopped doing the sweets. I’ll check my email!

Now I get it. It wasn't completely clear in the wording and it did seem too good to be true. I do have an actual chocolate freebie though as well.

Thank you all for replying. The wording didn't seem very clear in my email but I understand now thanks to your replies.
