Look up tinea versicolor.

I get it sometimes after I've been sweaty or hot etc on my back. Disappears with simple anti fungal cream from Amazon after a few applications.

Pityriasis rosea?

TwinklyRoseTurtle · 05/11/2024 20:57

Have you done the glass test? If does disappear will need to be seen by a medic. Any headaches/blurred vision/confusion

Pityriasis rosea?

Came on to say this. I had it and it looked just like that.

Okayornot · 05/11/2024 21:18

Yep, pityriasis rosea. Made me pretty tired (or perhaps I got it because I was run down).

Somewhere he will likely have a "herald patch" - a bigger spot which will have come first. I had two- one on my neck partly in my hairline and one on my chest.

No need for glass test or any of that shenanigans unless you suspect sepsis or meningitis - and if he had those he'd feel bad.
