Anyone awake?

Just looking for company. Had a small procedure under general anaesthetic yesterday and I'm so wide awake (though so tired). Slept about an hour since 9pm.

Is this normal? How should I expect to feel tomorrow?

@artistbythesea that is horrific, I understand your worry.

@maldivemoment One milky coffee on its way.

Oh my goodness! That's absolutely horrific. I can't see it being a RTA

It’s just awful and reminds me how vulnerable dd is there, the poor person that died and the student that picked up the head, it doesn’t bear thinking about.

Awake as usual now in later pregnancy. Right now I'd eat anything going, bendy toast, yes please.

That Edinburgh story is horrific. How will if help in getting to the bottom of it if the police pretend it's sn RTA? Surely they need to make an appeal for information?

So sleep is elusive. But I find with teens that’s the case anyway. I worry about them often, even if they are sensible and responsible. Do you have teens?

I could do with a shot of coffee at the happy cafe!!

maldivemoment · 05/11/2024 05:52

@sashh the coffee is perfect. Thank you.

Thoughts are with all of us who are reluctantly awake. I’m lying here trying to focus on gratitude rather grumbling about not sleeping.

Grateful for;
a cosy bed, coffee made by @sashh , husband & kids ( sleeping soundly) employment, friends, a warm duvet, Vinted!

37 weeks pregnant and generally awake for a few hours around this time, but had some abnormal liver function test results yesterday but got to wait til tomorrow to find out what any of it means 😫 so that’s not helping me sleep!

I'll call Leo over from the café (he's a Lemur, it is a long story) to bring toast and hot drinks.

Been awake a couple of hours with DS (6) who's suddenly stopped sleeping properly and started making sure he wakes the whole house up with him. I'm at a total loss what to do. He's usually such a kind boy but goes into a rage in the night and won't listen to anything I say. He absolutely needs to stop waking his sibling at all hours, but nothing I have tried works.

He's now happily in his bed reading but I can't go back to sleep.

My teen was out in Edinburgh on Saturday when someone was decapitated at 7.30pm in the evening. One of the students thought it was a Halloween costume and picked the head up. It is horrific. Police were every where once called.
My dd lives there and she is upset and frightened, the police are calling it a ‘road traffic accident’ but it obviously can’t be, as cars have to move so slowly (it’s quicker to walk) due to the volume of people in Edinburgh.

It has made me feel sick with worry about her safety. Two of her friends were followed home the night before, 😞

has this made the news?!

has this made the news?!

Not really. Low level news. Which is surprising. It looks like they think it might be a bus. The odd thing is that exactly the same thing happened last year
