I have an account that pays 8% interest. Its a fixed term 1 year only account. I can pay in max £200 a month to fund it. So at the end of the 1 year it'll have £2400 in it.

Can anyone tell me how much interest i will get at the end of the year?

Its not as simple as 8% of 2400 as i start out with 200, then 400 etc etc till its 2400 at the end

If you pay in the same each month, it’ll work out at about 8% x £2400 x 0.5 because half the year you’ll have less than half the amount and half the year you’ll have more than half the amount.

More complicated if the interest compounds but if you google a savings account interest calculator you’ll find one that does the maths for you.

If you saved £200 a month in an 8% account, with nothing in it at the start, you'd make £106.60 in interest over the year. So you'd have £2506.60 at the end of the year.

I had an account that was a regular saver paying 8% on a monthly deposit of 200. It was a couple of £ over £100 if I remember rightly

That's great thank you
