What to wear for a fireworks date?

Newish man, who is always immaculately turned out.

I can do dressy, but my casual definitely veers towards scruffy, and I think smart casual, warm and comfortable is much easier for men anyway.

So, fireworks and pub after?

Jeans and a jumper. Both those items can be smarter ones.

Nothing about standing in a cold field suggests dressy. Flat boots rather than trainers if you want to look a bit smarter.

No, I know not dressy, that's the problem, I can do dressy.

Jeans and a jumper on a woman is somehow not the same as jeans and a jumper on man, and he will look lovely.

Also, I haven't been able to do jeans well for years. Only wide leg, of the current shapes suit me, and they drag in the mud and I can't work out what shoes to wear with them if it's not sandals or trainers!

Been there done that and went for dress, tights, practical boots, nice jumper, coat. It’ll be dark at the fireworks anyway! Just need to look decent when you strip off the coat and jumper.

Nipple tassels? They you can do the "look at me! I'm a Catherine wheel!" thing later on if the date goes well.

Dress tights boots. Nice coat and scarf.

Clothes and wellies

A jumper dress with tights and boots? Maybe an oversized denim or leather jacket and scarf if it's going to be cold? I always feel like I've made a bit more effort in a jumper dress as opposed to jeans and a jumper.

I wouldn't wear a dress - you're standing in the cold in a field at night time! Wear smart, indigo jeans or cords. Cashmere or mix sweater, nice scarf waterproof jacket.
I hope it goes well!
