We've got to drive from east London (near south end of M11) to Lancashire in a couple of weeks. It's doable in the day, but we'd rather take 2 days and stop overnight somewhere.
Premier Inns are fine everywhere, but it world be nice to find somewhere independent. Doesn't have to be exactly halfway, can be a bit of a detour off the route (we're planning to go M11/M25/M1/M6).
Any suggestions, please? In a nice town or countryside would be a bonus!
