Is it normal to wait a month for a biopsy result?

My dad had a biopsy a month ago and the surgeon who did it said she thought it was “probably lung cancer”. He finally has an appointment on Monday, a month after the procedure.
He is in the U.K. and I’m not, so it feels like this is an insanely long time to wait for serious results like this but is this normal over there or should we be pressing for things to move a bit quicker?

Im concerned that any treatment will also continue at this snail’s pace.

Things are pretty f@&ked in the NHS so yes I am afraid this is not a suprising amount of time to be waiting

Yes sadly it is

Good lord! No wonder the NHS needs significant reform. Well I guess there’s nothing to be done then, he’ll just have to carry on waiting.
