Trousers for skinny 8 year old boy

Recommendations please for trousers to fit a skinny boy aged 8.

He has mainly been wearing Sainsbury’s boy ribbed leggings for the last few years but the largest size is 6-7 and now he is turning 8 they’re a bit short.

stuggles with jean buttons and prefers something softer though we do have some second hand skinny Levi’s that fit great. Additional needs mean drawstring not an option.

I always found river island kids sectio quite good for mine. Especially as they got to young teens who were long in the leg but still skinny round the waist as the men’s range starts at a 26 inch waist.

My 12 year old DS has always been skinny. He loves the slim fit joggers from Next - there is a drawstring, but it's not needed. Used these for PE too. When younger we bought from m&s, next and sometimes sainsburys TU and try and get the adjustable waistbands. Surprisingly mountain warehouse are good for shorts (not sure about trousers). H & M can also be good, and people usually also recommend Zara.

Edited

Next is confusing me as I can’t work out if slim fit or skinny fit is smaller! I might just order both and see.

I find European brands better for skinny kids- H&M for example. There trousers were good for my long lean boy.

Ooooh like the look of H&M joggers, nice to see something other than grey black and navy.

I second H&M, buttons are often poppers and the drawstrings are real but can be pulled tight and will stay that way

Similar skinny boy here. Have a look at Lindex. We love their leggings which have adjustable waists.

Yep, another h&m vote!

M and S, Zara.

My skinny 8 year old often wears his sister's leggings. I get her multipacks and all the navy grey or black ones go to him. Girls leggings go up to older than 8!

Next skinny joggers. Great fit.

H&M or Lindex
