Do you have a blue light card? Is it worth it for you?

What do you use it most for? I didn't use mine much so I scrapped it, but am thinking of getting it again now my kids are into Nandos and I think Nandos is on it.

What else is there?

mine has well and truly paid for myself. Just the money back in store at Asda is worth it!

SocksShmocks · 29/10/2024 07:32

Levi give a good discount. I’ve bought jeans for my son and myself recently. Even if I didn’t use it for anything else that would be worth it.

FabulouslyFab · 29/10/2024 07:34

Pavers shoes and Bella Italia are the first ones that spring to mind for me! 😁

Flangeosaurus · 29/10/2024 07:34

It’s brilliant for appliances, also discount on Haven! And a few other holiday places including Eurocamp

olderbutwiser · 29/10/2024 07:36

Absolutely. I think I saved most on a new set of tyres at kwikfit.

SomethingDifferentBloomed · 29/10/2024 07:36

It’s 100% worth it. However Nando’s isn’t on there, so don’t get one for that reason! Nando’s do an NHS discount which is decent, you just link your nhs email to your Nando’s account, but they don’t do blue light. Still more than worth it though.

Aceflyer172 · 29/10/2024 07:39

You'd crazy not to have one. Just go on to the Bluelight Card website and see who offers discounts. A lot of shops & traders offer a discount but they don't advertise it, you have to ask. I save an average of £30 per month.

unlikelychump · 29/10/2024 07:39

Ha, I clearly need to know this about Nandos! I'm police, I wonder if they do one for that.

Kwik fit might be worth it.

I use it a lot, mainly for eating out and clothes shopping, it's well worth it for me. I think nandos you can do just with nhs ID if you are nhs so don't necessarily need the blue light card for that.

libertineagain · 29/10/2024 07:41

I got one recently (teacher) and have already saved loads. Going to Japan next year and got up to 25% off Expedia. Prezzo has 20% off and kids eat free this week. There are loads of deals. Worth searching before you buy anything.

Restinpeacefavouritecoathanger · 29/10/2024 07:43

Oh without doubt it's worth it I save the £5 fee weekly and if not daily at the weekend.

No they don't 😢

I use mine for pub meals, carvery and some clothes shops take it. 20% off peacocks

reversetheick · 29/10/2024 08:00

Yes I only got it a couple of months ago and I've already recouped the cost of the card just from a few cinema tickets and in Asda. I also had to buy a new mattress recently and saved a good chunk on that too. Definitely worth it!

Apollo365 · 29/10/2024 08:06

Asda rewards! I’ve got a lovely little cash pot building up for Xmas 😊

SauvignonBlonk · 29/10/2024 08:08

I’ve used mine in New Look buying clothes for DD. Also saved on Clarkes school shoes. Pandora discount too. The card was a fiver and I’ve saved about 10 times that since the end of August.

AdviceNeeded2024 · 29/10/2024 08:24

I don’t think the offers are quite as good as they were 10 years ago but definitely worth having one still. I used mine in Pets and Friends the other day and saved more than I paid for the card in that one shop. I use it for eating out, clothes shopping and online shopping mainly (hair and beauty products) I’ve never used mine on bigger purchases but you do get great discounts.

And as PP’s have mentioned it’s great linking it to the ASDA app if you go in ASDA a lot.

AllstarFacilier · 29/10/2024 08:26

I’ve linked mine to Asda, but I don’t do big shops in there. I’ve bought vouchers and got discount off vouchers. I went away this weekend and thought I could use it on travelodge and some food places, but because it was the weekend I couldn’t l.

Nando’s have apparently stopped doing this where you show your I.D. Card and get discount for police officers/staff. Couple of friends are in police and used to get discount, last couple of times got told they don’t do it any more (this is in the Midlands). Not sure about NHS though.

Hi I'm a midday supervisor at a local primary school and am just wondering if I should apply for a blue light card..and is it worth me applying for one?

caringcarer · 11/06/2025 19:52

I have one and use it to get 25 percent off of Toby Carvery. I also sometimes get 10 percent off of other things.

Titasaducksarse · 11/06/2025 20:01

Got £30 off Easyjet holiday few weeks ago and £60 off virgin Atlantic flights for end of the year. 20% off sweaty betty this week and 8% off at Halfords 2 weeks ago. Money off airport parking with holiday extras.
For the cost...what is it like £5.99 for 2 years it's well worth it.

Redlorryyellowlorryblue · 11/06/2025 21:53

Money off cinema tickets, Disney Park tickets, Pizza Express, blue light theme park days…

Fupoffyagrasshole · 11/06/2025 21:59
