Individually wrapped filter coffee - they come in packs of 5-10 and are brilliant, you hook them over your cup/mug and pour hot water, when you want one cup of filter drip coffee. I hate instant!

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 28/10/2024 18:41

Kewpie mayonnaise and Umeshu plum liquer.

If they have fresh shiso leaves, get them too!

I would also buy natto but it probably isn't the best bet if you don't already know that you like it!!

Oh, okay. Let us know if you get any of this then. I’ve run out of the individual coffee filter things, and don’t know anyone going to Japan in near future. I should have bought all they had in the supermarket on my last trip.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 28/10/2024 19:08

Waterloo by any chance?

I’ve bought the individual coffee filters from Waitrose before (but not recently), they were fine. And have you tried coffee bags? They’re really convenient too.

girlofsandwich · 28/10/2024 19:35

Pocky, Shin Ramyun Noodles, White Rabbit sweets! Be prepared to pick up a million things, I go in for gyoza/spices/sauces and end up with all sorts.

Also if you think you'll need stocking fillers or secret santa gifts, fun treats from the Asia Market here always go down well. I was in over the weekend and took note of things to pick up as little gift add ons. Have fun!

I’m so confused about there being a deletion on this thread. I’m sure that post was an innocuous recommendation to buy kit kats.

Poggishairtufts · 28/10/2024 20:37

See if they have fresh matcha cookies and buy twice as many as you think you should
