What's everyone wanting to buy for Black Friday!?

I'm eagerly waiting for Black Friday as I'm after a walking pad to help me get my arse moving a bit more during working hours at home 🙃

Also interested to hear what everyone else is holding out for... My MIL insisted that Hot Wheels are "all the rage" for this year's Christmas - whether that's true or not I'm not sure - but I'll probably be looking for some deals on them too for my two DC

So, since I'm nosey - what are you after? And has anyone see any early Black Friday deals yet? You know, since Black Friday is now the whole of November

Nowt <party pooper> - desperately trying to cut down on generosity at Xmas, I’m half dead from the hordes of 21sts this year.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 31/10/2024 17:18

I know I'm wishful thinking but hoping for a deal on an x box! We wouldn't normally spend so much but DS is desperate as he's the only one of his friends without one, he's still playing a switch which he's had for 6 years now and is a bit young for him.
For me I'd like new pans!

My kindle is on its last legs (won't hold battery and the charge light keeps going off so charging it is a pain) and I'm really hoping it will hold out a bit longer as we're in peak "increase prices before Black Friday" territory so now would be a very bad time to buy a replacement. That said I've found out that if I trade in my old one I can get 20% off a replacement plus a small credit for the device itself.

Is it wishful thinking? DD1 (adult) wants one too and I was wondering if they ever cane up in the Black Friday sales.

muddyford · 31/10/2024 17:44

New dishwasher. Mine started flooding the kitchen so I have been washing up by hand. First world problem, I know, but I am a carer for DH and have enough to do without that.

A bit of googling showed that Curry's had them reduced last year so I'm keeping everything crossed!

mondaytosunday · 31/10/2024 17:55

Um, yarn. Not in the market for any high ticket items and as been shown repeatedly the vastly majority of items are at Black Friday prices or cheaper afterwards. Or even before.

Drizzlethru · 31/10/2024 18:01

not looking for anything I want, but our mattress has been sagging since the summer so any discount off one would be most helpful, if any exist!

BIWI · 31/10/2024 19:38

That's good news @EnglishGirlApproximately!

Tarnishedbutton · 31/10/2024 19:50

Well I've now decided I too need a walking pad 😆
Looking for new knifes.

MILLYmo0se · 31/10/2024 19:54

Hair dryer for DD so I don't keep having to hunt for the diffuser every time she uses mine!

There were some good offers last year on xbox, very had them reduced and do pay in 3 payments interest free which is a bonus.

That's good to know. I do have a very account but don't owe anything on it at the moment but would definitely do so for a decent deal. I generally think very are good with returns and customer service so would great if they have a deal! I guess it wouldn't be compatible with any of the endless discount codes they send me to try to get me to use my account...

Id like a new echo dot for the living room, I got a good deal on 2 last year for the DDs.

Are there any decent refurbished ones on eBay? I read that it's good to get electrics on eBay as they have a warranty.

distinctpossibility · 31/10/2024 21:21

My grandma has given me £200 so I'm toying with the idea of a walking pad. Wonder if I'd actually use it / benefit from it though as I tend to walk at least 10000 steps a day in normal life.

I would like to get DD some Crocs for Christmas.but they seem to always be in the sale anyway...

I haven't thought to look tbh, I don't use eBay much! I know the refurbished ones at CEX and roughly the same price as last year's black Friday deals so holding out and hoping for the best.

Tooffless · 31/10/2024 21:34

OP don't get hot wheels, it's all awful, doesn't fit together, unclicks, flimsy. Get speedtrack instead.

I bought one last year through them about a week before black Friday as it was reduced. They then reduced it again on black Friday so I returned the one I bought for a refund and ordered another at the new price. Which they didn't question and were very quick.
