What hobbies do you share with your children?

Eldest child and I share an interest in auctions and collectibles, and often go rummaging together.

Middle child and I do crossfit classes, and once or twice a year we go wild camping and hiking.

I adore my youngest, and so far nothing has naturally come up that we both share an interest in. Would love to hear what activities other people do with their children - maybe I'll get an idea for something youngest and I can have a go at.

How old (roughly) is your youngest? Do they lean any way with hobbies - eg intellectual, adventurous, sporty/physical, creative, technical?

Mine are a bit young for real hobbies so we have special places we go out for coffee and cake, and I try and join in their Lego interests :) they love dressing up but I tend to support them with it rather than join in. We love hanging in nature.

Random things that spring to mind: those more challenging Lego projects (eg Harry Potter), treasure hunts, pottery, maybe surfing/kayaking.

but it’s prob based on our interests and life and my imagination(fantasy) of the future (haha)

DS does fencing with me and DH. He's too young for the proper classes around here (they seem to start at age 9), but we teach him some of the easy moves. Obviously he doesn't have a proper weapon. 😂

He also plays violin with DH, and writes short stories with me. Horseriding.

DD is a bit young yet for hobbies, but she loves drawing so DH spends a lot of time doing that with her. It'd be nice if it blossomed into a long term thing! That said, they do both ask to join in my yoga so we have some fun with that!

DD15 and I are both fans of reading and piano playing! We often do duets together. She's much better singer though! Also, she's my walking buddy, we are the only members happy to go on long hikes together!

Her twin and I both enjoy to do swimming and badminton together. She does a lot more sport but I am rubbish at everything else. We also love shopping if that counts 😁

DS12 and I enjoy doing some football together occasionally as well as swimming but he shares much more with DH!

DD9 have literally no shared hobbies at all and I've only just realised. We do draw together quite a bit though so I think that counts.

DD6 and I do loads together! We do horse-riding, ice skating and swimming mainly. We also enjoy dancing and create some quite terrible choreographies for each other sometimes.

DS - going to football matches, fantasy football league, city days out, visiting places like nature reserves and NT properties, gardening.

DD - going to the theatre, going out for coffee, we have both been in choirs but not the same one, ditto dance classes. Pub quizzes.

Both young adults.

Dc2 is getting into social media so we sometimes do photography together, helped by them learning how to use Photoshop at school and being able to practise at home.
