What's the best, cheapest hotel/caravan you've stayed in?

Inspired by the thread about the worst hotels.

Have you ever booked somewhere really cheap, expecting it not to be too great but been surprised out how good it was?

Recently went on a sun newspaper £9.50 holiday. Cost £38 for 4 nights. Parkdean caravan site in Norfolk. Didn't expect it to be great but desperate for a holiday and wanted somewhere that was just for bed really.
Very surprised at how lovely the caravan was. Found some paperwork that said it was only made in 2022 Memory foam mattresses. Very clean. 3 bedrooms (only expected 2 as only myself and my mum going, so 3rd room was a bonus and we put our cases in there)
Can't comment on on site facilities as didn't use any.

Not as cheap as yours but caravan holidays we've loved are:

Middlewood Farm Holiday Park (walked to Robin Hood Bay most days).
Away Resorts Barmouth Bay
Parkdean White Cross Bay

I guess nobody else has stayed in cheap places!

Loads of Haven sites - Berwick, Grange over sands, one on the east coast near Glasgow - all amazing. The Premier Inn nearest the Harry Potter Studio tour - the staff were amazing and made it all themed off their own backs - so adorable! The Marriott at heathrow Airport I was really ill and the staff were heroic (we were on a Tesco clubcard deal)

I've been to several Parkdean sites, always in term time, brilliant and cheap.

Did loads of sun holidays when kids were young all were really good and caravans clean .Went to minorca yrs ago 3 star cheap deal .Walked in stair carpet all worn looked super tatty , bed was broken .
They replaced the bed immediately, food was best we ever had on any holiday and we are both foodies. Husband was a chef .To this day our best holiday staff were great, other guests were friendly. Have always been scared to return as it would never be as good .

I did a Homestay night in India which cost us £10 for an ensuite bedroom after a ferry trip, but perhaps not what you meant 😂

What are these sun holidays? And why haven't I heard of them before!?

I love a random little old school B and b often find they are surprisingly good and reasonably priced. It's gone now but we found one in the lake District which was a little run down but the beds were comfy and the breakfast was amazing!

A friend books cheap places on Airbnb. I've travelled with him twice and for what we've paid, they haven't been too bad.

Visited Didcot twice over 2 months and booked an apartment the first time. Left it too late to book the second time. (Didn't book just in case it turned out to be awful) Booked a b and b the second time which was quite nice.

£99 for a week in Majorca is September from last minute.com. I allocated accommodation. Got allocated a 4* apartment it was so good went back. Full price though! Those days are long gone!

Had a fab week at an away resorts park on the Isle of Wight October half term last year for £120. It was so cheap because our school was on a completely different holiday cycle. Prices it up this year and it was around £800.
