My kid’s still a toddler so I have no opinions on this, but what’s the age when kids seem to stop ToT in your area?

Here it seems to be about 13 or so.

I don't see any kids older than about 8 or 9 round here usually.

Littletreefrog · 27/10/2024 22:22

Once you hit Secondary school age you only really go out to accompany younger children round here. Or more likely you go and throw eggs at cars dressed head to foot it Hoodrich thinking your some sort or gangster.

Age 11ish round here. Think my youngest went reluctantly in year 7 with her mates, but by year 8 all of them found it too cringe.

My female neighbour and 3 of her friends make their own costumes and go out for Halloween, with their bags, of course it's just for fun for them, meeting new people while they show off their costumes.
But they usually get some pretty okay treats, believe it or not, most people think it's funny, and they're okay with it.
We've had kids at our door in their high teens they look like, coming in groups, we now shut the lights off and don't decorate outside anymore.

Guisers up to 13/14 where I am, but most tail off by high school age

RightOnTheEdge · 27/10/2024 22:51

My daughter is 13 and she and her friends have been discussing costumes for weeks. They are excited to go go out.
You do get quite a lot of teenagers out.
Our area goes all out for Halloween though with the decorations and crowds of kids out.

DD was 11, her friend nearly 12 when they went out with her friend's younger sister the last time.

I am not a fan of T&T anyway so I didn't encourage her to got again.

When I walk home from work on the 31st I normally see children up to 9/10 max.

HalloweenHaribo · 27/10/2024 23:03

About senior school age but a bit older if they have younger siblings with them.

Colinorpercy · 27/10/2024 23:07

Guisers here about 12/13 is usually the oldest. Definitely still big into it until the end of primary.

Well we had DS 16 friends come by last year, he was ill so didn’t join them but his best friend and others popped by to see the decs and see how DS was doing. I suspect we won’t see them this year. Usually up to about 14 is the oldest I’ve seen otherwise.
