Earbuds for Teams calls - what do you use?

When I do Teams calls for work, I put on my covid era headphones with attached microphone. They're Britney Spears style ones.

I've gradually realised noone else wears these 🙈 or at least noone I have meetings with!

But I'm not sure what I need.

Any recommendations for what you use to listen to Teams and to speak?

I don't want it just blaring out of my laptop as some of it is confidential.

I use a £20 pair of Apple wired earphones - much more comfortable than the big heavy headphones that work sent to me.

I just use Bluetooth earbuds

Panasonic ergofit wired earbuds with microphone.

They're shaped to fit the ear canal properly so block out quite a bit of noise. Love them

I'd use my AirPods, but my laptop seems to be too locked down for that.

I use the ones they gave me but people seem to use different things. One call I was on the presenter was using earbuds with his mic on a wire and the heavy breathing you could hear was dreadful.

I had to buy some kind of adaptor to make this work though actually.

I can't bear headphones, I just use my speakers but I WFH. Never had a teams call when I have been in an office. I imagine it would provide a headset.

Shokz open ear ones. Use them for running, cycling, Teams calls, everything. I have several sets.

This. They're pretty discreet and work really well for Teams. Mind you anything Bluetooth would be helpful.

I use some Apple wired earbuds which came with my iPad a few years ago. They seem perfectly adequate to the task, and much more comfortable than the full on headset with microphone which I was supplied with, and makes me feel like a taxi dispatcher.

When people just have ear buds, is your voice picked up through the laptop? And that is fine?

Or does nearby noise also get picked up?

Or do the ear buds somehow pick up your voice?

Or do I need to buy some other kind of microphone?

My earbuds have a combined microphone and volume control on the wire for the right earbud. Once you plug in or otherwise connect headphones your laptop’s internal speaker and microphone will be automatically disabled.

Yeah, the Apple wired earphones also have a microphone built in. I find them really good quality.

Forgive my ignorance but do this not go into your ear? I cannot bear headphones that go into my ear and I'm not keen on over ear traditional headsets, but can bear very soft ones. I'm wondering if these might be the answer if they are small like in ear but they sit on your ear iyswim?

They are jawbone microphone/audio, so they sit just by the little cartilage bit next to your ear. Nothing in your ear, nothing over it.
I get hideous itchy ears if I use anything in or over them. Shokz are neither and work fine for me. And always have 20% off on black Friday!
