Forgot to renew my car insurance

For the first time in my adult life I have forgotten to renew my car insurance and only realised today that it ran out 6 days ago.
Has anyone else messed up like this?
What do I do now. Am I going to get fined??

No. Just renew it today. Unless you have been caught driving on camera in the last 6 days, there is no proof. And who would look for any (unless you're the subject of a criminal investigation!)?

"They" won't catch you unless you get stopped & you haven't renewed.

Thanks for the replies. I'm normally so organised but have had a lot on with an ill relative and seem to have dropped the ball!

Thanks goodness it can be instantly solved online! This happened to us once, thanks to my disorganised DH. But it was for a few weeks!!! I have never trusted it to him again!
