Good evening all,
We’ve fallen into a very boring rut at the moment so I’m planning to start a fortnightly ‘country/culture’ themed evening with dinner food to match. Three children, 5,9 and 11.5.
Eg. France - Play boules before dinner, eat chicken fricassée/frites and chocolate mousse for pudding, learn a bit about French history/culture and some vocab, watch ratatouille, choose some French-themed bedtimes stories and then the adults can watch Amelie or Bienvenue chez les chtis with some nice French wine and cheese!
Google brings up lots of stereotypes but I’m wondering if anyone has any gems for other cultures or countries?
So far I’m planning for France, Spain, Mexico, India, Japan, Italy, Germany, Denmark, the USA, China, Egypt, South Africa, Ireland, Greece and Turkey, but any ideas are welcome. (I’m aware lots of these countries encompass multiple cultures).
As we’re staying in, I’m willing to spend up to £20ish a time on decor/extras/activities- not including food. Don’t mind ordering ahead!
I’ll come back and update on planning and how it goes regardless, but would really appreciate input if anyone has the time or inclination please 🙂.
