KP had not been a good mother to Harvey.
We tend to canonise famous mothers who raise disabled children - it’s almost as if they do anything vaguely maternal, they’re a saint for putting up with a child that’s such “hard work”. Absolute horseshit.
Harvey is extremely vulnerable and needed to be protected for his own good. But instead, she wheeled him out in front of the media to prop up her own image. She gave him access to social media when he was too immature/vulnerable to understand what he was being exposed to. Made him a laughing stock by taking him on shows - remember the whole “hello you cunt” debacle?!
She shows a reasonable understanding of his health needs at times but I’d argue that in some areas her views are extremely ableist and don’t take account of his needs/challenges. No wonder he’s in residential care at such a young age.
A child like Harvey needs stability and a calm environment. KP put her own sexual needs above the needs of Harvey. A different man through the door every week and constantly jetting off even when he wasn’t in residential care. Thats not putting him first.
Taking him to medical appointments, giving him toys, putting food on the table, and acting in front of the cameras to appear the care-worn, exhausted, compassionate mother doesn’t mean she’s some kind of maternal saint.
She’s done little more than the bare minimum for Harvey, and a darn sight less than most other parents who have a child with high needs.
And yes, I am speaking from a place of knowledge - I have two DC who will never live independently, one of whom who has very high needs.
KP’s exploitation of Harvey has been disgusting.
