Need some October sun - shortest flight from the UK

Any suggestions please?

I haven't managed a holiday this year due to various work and family issues but have a window of opportunity to get away for some much needed sun and R&R.

Canaries or Agadir would be the shortest flight but that is why they are so packed

Crete can also bee sunny in October but I have been there during a storm then.

Northern Spain like San Sebastian or Bilbao are a 2hr flight from London.
Majority of warmer parts of Europe are a 3hr flight though such as Malaga, Sicily, Greece.

Do you need to fly? What about eurostar to the Sth of France?
