I'm not from the UK originally. need to get 2 mum friends and their kids some bits. One is visiting me and other has invited the family over for lunch. They both like cake and sweet stuff but i don't so have no idea what to get. Just browsed m&s and was thinking panettone and halloween chocolates or Christmas tin biscuits because i receive these stuff that i regift, but i just have no idea what people like.

Panettone is a lovely gift, but most often given at Christmas. Is this something you're buying in advance of Christmas? If it's for now, I think any of their Halloween treats would be well received by children, and a box of mixed chocolates for the adults.

Makes sense thanks! Wonder why they stock so much Christmas stuff now

From M and S you could get Colin the caterpillar cake and some Percy pigs. Everyone likes those. And maybe a couple of packets of biscuits.

It's has to be mini Colin's for the kids (and the adults, but pretend they're for the kids).

Lots of their biscuits are very good too.
