Anyone else fed up of stomach bugs

I know they can’t always be helped especially when you have children in nursery/school but I’m sooo fed up with them now.

3 weeks ago, DS2 brought a d&v bug home from nursery which resulted me in having about 4 hours sleep that night. He got better then DS1 started with it 2 nights later. Again, around 4 hours sleep. 2 days after that I got it. Never felt so bad.

Well last night I’ve barely had any sleep because DS1 has been up all night being sick. I just know it’s going to spread through the house like always and we are due to go away on Monday. I always thought you had a bit of immunity for a while but wondering if it’s a different strain?

They are the absolute worst

Bleach, bleach and more bleach.

@Hoglet70 I’ve bleached the bathroom, just wondering if I can bleach things like the tv remote

I would be bleaching everything lol. Spray that says it kills viruses would probably work. I buy NewGenn stuff online.

Never had one in our house.

I know, it's weird, but we have also never had one. One ds who is 16 now, two adults, and we have never had a d&v bug in the house in over two decades. I did read that some people are immune. I wonder if some people are more susceptible?

I clean everything that we all touch (light switches, remotes, phones, devices, door handles, front door latch etc) with bleach.

Also clean the loo after every use (flush, cistern, seat, bowl) Clean the lot, again with bleach.

Leave windows open.

Separate the poorly one from others as much as you can.

Have a sickness kit. I have dedicated bowls / large muslins / old towels. Plus lots of kitchen roll, black bags, bleach spray.

I'm an emetophobe so horribly OTT about sickness but we had noro in the summer and following 'the sickness rules' we managed to avoid us all getting it.

Change toothbrushes or pop them in the dishwasher every day for a week.

We went through a spate when the kids were younger of catching every D&V bug going.

Minimise milk for a few days as it can be quite harsh after a big.

Probiotics

Windows open in sick rooms.
Windows open in toilets
Bleach after every sick
Dettol spray.
