Carpet for hall and stairs. Wool or man made?

We need to replace our carpets. Currently have wool mix carpet. Also have a bit of a carpet moth infestation. What are the downsides of going with man made fibre carpet as opposed to wool based?

Easy to clean and cheaper

I'd never ever go with a wool mix again. Been there done that, and what a pain it was. Go with man-made, cheaper to buy and replace if needed, durable, no moths, easier to clean.
