Which part is hard drive in chrombebook?

Which part is the hard drive? There's nothing that fits the descriptions online.

Should be in the big silver casing on top left. Looks like it's missing?

Ok, thank you. I was going to remove the hard drive before taking to the tip. Interesting, it broke a few years ago after falling on the floor and DD reckons no one has ever looked inside.

If it's quite old it may never have had actual HDD just soldered storage chip.

I think it's about seven years old.

Is the motherboard the blue part?

Yes.

green bit is the ram.

Black thing hanging out is battery

These have solid state storage, no hard drive as such.

Newer ones have SSDs

This metal bracket is what you need to remove to get to the M.2 SSD underneath, to ensure that you're not leaving any data on the Chromebook when you scrap it.
