Singapore airlines checked car seat

Hopefully someone here has recently experience as I am finding the policy on the website hard to interpret (I am partially blaming baby brain, so sorry if the answer is obvious!).

We are travelling to New Zealand with our 4 year old and 5 month old. Both children will need their car seats to travel to the airport and whilst we are in NZ.

I am certain my 5 month old is entitled to both a push chair and car seat to be checked into the hold free of charge. Does anyone know if I will be able to check my 4 year old's high back booster as an additional piece of luggage for free, or would I need to pay for extra baggage? I have been able to check a pushchair / car seat in a child's ticket (2+ years) on other airlines no problem, but cannot definitively find the answer for Singapore Airlines.

If it’s an approved size he’ll be able to sit in it on the journey

Unfortunately, Singapore Airlines only let children under 3 sit in a car seat on the flight (also the car seat needs to be airline approved which this one isn't so would need to be checked in anyway)

It's been a long time since my kids were that little so the rules may have changed, but I remember we took sq to Australia when they were around 4 or 5 years old and they let us check in the stroller at the gate. We also collected the stroller at the gate when we disembarked and there were some car seats to be collected at the same area.

I would call or email their customer service to be sure!

Are you using your full checked baggage allowance? Each of you with a seat will get a checked bag, so if you’re only checking 2 bags between then the booster can be the 3rd bag so no need to worry about whatever their specific policy is.
