Wide awake with covid in a caravan

Came away to a caravan site in Wales with DH and our two children on Friday after work, felt rough all day Friday and worse by Saturday morning. Tested positive for covid today, I wouldn't normally have done a test for a cold but I feel really bad.

Due to leave on Friday....I've spent pretty much the hole time in the caravan watching crap TV feeling absolutely awful. Can't sleep and feeling guilty the DH has spent most of his time entertaining 4 year old and I've not had much of a holiday.

Anyone had covid recently? Same symptoms as last time but with incredibly itchy skin and indigestion this time.... paracetamol and ibuprofen not doing anything.

Would rather like to just go home 🙄

Go home tomorrow

Sorry you're feeling awful

Sorry you're not well 🙁 I've had pneumonia recently and my husband stepped up for weeks while I got better. I'm sure you've looked after your husband and kids when he's ill so don't feel guilty. I'm awake because I've just had some minor surgery and I'm feeling a bit uncomfortable. I can't quite remember when I last had some paracetamol so I might have some ibuprofen. Hope you feel better soon. Being ill is rubbish, especially on holiday.

Oh no! That's unlucky.

I had Covid not too long ago, I felt really wiped out by it, it's way worse than a standard cold/flu.
The Covid itself weakened my immune system so I caught a lung infection which had me bed ridden coughing and delirious for two weeks 😶.

When my son had it (I caught it from him) he developed a temporary lactose intolerance 😬 it can have a knock on affect to your digestive system..... It was an awful time.

You need to take care!

Sorry to hear you've both been poorly too 😞

Think I'll suggest going home early, it's not helping that the beds are terrible here!

Defo go home @Oldmouse I know it's so disappointing when you: other family get ill on hols I've been there but your own bed and home comforts will make all the difference
I had Covid a few weeks ago heavily pregnant and it was hideous
Raging cough sore throat breathless and diarrhoea to boot- so much fun with 2 toddlers as well x

Definitely head home early so you can recover in your own comfort. When you’re feeling better, you can plan another small holiday or day out for yourselves. Even take DD out for your own little adventure if DH needs a break. If you’re at home, you’re more comfortable, DD has all of her stuff to occupy her, and DH can have time off constant child occupation (no easy feat!!).

My mother has just gotten over a bout. Like you, major indigestion, and she experienced heavy fatigue (literally slept all day). We reckon I had it the week before (stupidly never tested - didn’t feel “sick” enough) but I had regular cold symptoms and a massive headache that was completely resistant to all pain killers. Ended up sleeping for hours, it was awful.

Feel better soon, OP
