I've had a flurry of text scams today, normally my phone is good at automatically blocking them and I'm blissfully unaware of their existence, but these have all made it through and I accidentally opened one by clicking it to try and report/block it. I know this is a no no for emails but are the same risks there for texts? It was empty and had no links in it, all have been blocked now and I've reported them to the phishing.gov email with screenshots.
I get a fully gutteral fear about any and all scams and often delete probably quite harmless genuine emails because of my anxiety. I am completely clueless about what can and can't be tracked and traced, what is and isn't genuine and what can and can't be done through texts. Is anyone able to sympathetically advise me or talk me through at a basic idiot level please?
