If you could emigrate, where to and why?

I live in Scotland. I am early 40s and lost family and nothing keeping me here now. Where would you go and why if you could?

Maybe one of the Nordic countries as they are meant to have a very good standard of living and excellent public services. I would do a PhD and work in a university.

Cyprus, specifically Paphos area. I travel there regularly for holidays and have friends from the UK there, the weather is definitely an attraction as well.

Canada - very much hoping to make this happen

Either Canada as I’ve had fabulous holidays there or Australia for the weather. I’ve never been to Australia and my dh says I’d never survive the spiders but I’m willing to give it a go.

I would stay in Scotland. But would never go south enough to even get to Dundee.

Norway. We'll be moving there in two years and I can't wait! DH is from there and I love everything about it; the scenery, the people, the culture. Other than that...hmm, maybe France?

Australia

I lived there for ten years in my late teens/ early adulthood, still have family and friends there. I’m desperate to move back and hope to do so within the next two years.

It just feels harder and harder to live in the UK now and despite us both having decent jobs, every month just feels like we’re getting by

I’d love to move to Norway! Canada sounds good too, never been though.

DH wants it to be a hot country. He’d opt for Lisbon I think, which I’d go along with!

We did live in Sydney for a while and really enjoyed it but not a forever place for us.

Narnia! I am not that fussed about Turkish delight but would love to have tea with the beavers.

Ok, if we're being serious, I think maybe New Zealand, the South Island. Beautiful and far away from the rest of the world.
