Looking for recommendations for a country with a decent water park!

As the title says, family of 4, so needs to be a family friendly park with plenty for kids (youngest will be 7).
We've been to Tenerife before so ideally would like to go somewhere different (but not Turkey). Other than that we're pretty open to travel anywhere within Europe! Oh and NO dolphin/sea lion/orca shows, I remember Aqualand has dolphins, not sure about anywhere else.

Recommendations are gratefully received, thank you in advance!

I came to suggest Siam Park but seen you want other options. The water parks at disney florida are great

TimeForBedSaidZebadee · 20/10/2024 19:46

Also came on to recommend Siam Parc. I'm hanging around though because my family love a good water park.

I love a good water park and although I’ve not been Rulantica at europa park on my long to do list.Ive attached a bioloop link to top ten Europe they are usually a good source of information.

Slide and splash, algarve

We had THE had the best day out there as a family, way better than Disneyland

went when kids were 6 and 8 and three years on they still talk about it.

it probably helped though that we were there off season and didn’t queue for anything all day.

Here! Just make sure you stay in the quiet part of Salou and not the just finished school party section we did.

DragonInAmber · 20/10/2024 21:35

Porta Aventura, we had so much fun there with same age groups.

If you liked Slide &Splash, go back to the Algarve and go to Aquashow-it’s brilliant!

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 20/10/2024 21:46

We went to aqua land in Corfu in the summer my 11 and 8 year old said it was the best day ever.

Lallandia, Billund, Denmark. Right beside the original LEGOLAND

Ah yes. We liked this a lot. Is indoor though.

on a similar theme we liked the water park at Villages Natures (center parcs) at Disneyland Paris. Didn’t really like Villages Natures tho.

LiquoriceAllsort2 · 22/10/2024 00:19

Another vote for Aquashow in Portugal, nice hotel a 100 yard walk from the waterpark entrance with free admission and it own turnstile to get in.

Anisty · 22/10/2024 00:21

Florida. Wet and Wild plus all the Disney water parks.

Sorry - just noticed the Europe bit.

Verite1 · 22/10/2024 00:41

Acquapark Istralandia at Porec in Croatia. Was great. There is also aquacolors water park near by as well but we didn’t go to that one. There is a great one around lake garda as well but queues were massive

If you stay in the right part of the Algarve you can get to Slide and Splash, Aquashow and Aqualand pretty easily. All three are within an hours drive of each other and are pretty close to the A22 motorway. Each has their pros and cons but we go to them all every year, sometimes multiple times!

Mishmashs · 22/10/2024 06:43

Aqua land in Corfu was good!

That sounds great, what would you say the right area is?

@AintNobodyHereButUsChickens
For the last few years we've stayed near Carvoeiro. A nice little town on the coast. If you wanted a bit more life maybe Albufeira. We've also stayed near Quarteira, another location a bit closer to the airport, again on the coast. This year we're heading east of Faro for a change - but know it will be a bit of a drive to Slide and Splash.

We've got two teenage girls, each has a different favourite but will quite happily go to all of them. We've been going for the last seven years I think, since they were 7 and 9!

Edited

Wet and Wild shut YEARS ago.

OP. Came to say Rulantica but see it's already been recommended.

Ineedabiscuit · 23/10/2024 14:57

yes I second the one in Croatia near Porec called Istralandia - really lovely and clean , well designed and very efficient .

We've been to Aqualand in Corfu many times, always enjoyed it. There's a large wave pool which is fab.

Crete also has a waterpark on the Chania side which is very good, although I can't remember the name of it.

Both have coach trips go to them (but it's better if you have a hire car and can get there early and leave when you like and pick what day suits you best)

queenofthewild · 23/10/2024 16:24

Corfu. The water park is brilliant. And the coast is excellent for snorkelling. It's brilliant for kids who love the water.
