Self-employed and need a new career direction …

I’m 51, have always been self-employed. Background in communications, writing, content - broadly, without being outing.

Anyway, I am in need of a change and I have found this the toughest year yet to secure contracts. It’s hard out there!

So, thinking of changing things up, even retraining. Am spending a lot of time researching but nothing has crystallised yet.

Wondered if anyone had any bright ideas?!

Are you in telly? If so join the TV Switch Up group on Facebook. They're doing a lot of good work helping people finding they need to 'pivot' out of the industry.

I’m not in telly, but I’m not far off - will have a look! Thanks

Best of luck. It's sadly a familiar story and one I think will be in my not too distant future as the TV industry contracts.
