Bar alone to see a band?

I’m a 43 year old female home alone tonight and feeling very bored.
There is a covers band I would like to see at a local pub in town. All friends and partner are busy. Would it be weird to go along for an hour or so alone? Will people look at me and think I’m odd?

Hardly anyone will notice you're on your own, even if they do they won't think badly of you and on the off chance they do notice and judge you that's just their own ignorable pettiness.

Of course not! I go by myself sometimes. I’m too shy to speak to anyone so I just keep myself to myself and no-one bats an eyelid. I don’t think it’s at all uncommon to go alone and chat with randomers at the bar. More power to you. Have a fab time! ☺️

I do this all the time. I'm 50. Don't give it a second thought. Go.

Who cares what other people think? Anyway they'll be too busy with their own lives to worry about you.

I'd go, but be extra aware of anyone who might see a woman alone and take advantage, never leave a drink unattended or accept a drink from a stranger.

Go! Once you get there you’ll realise your own company is sometimes the best company.

Fair play to you OP, I've done this a good few times, the first time you do it, you will be nervous and feel like everyone is looking at you (they aren't!) And wondering why you are on your own (they wont care!). After this you will be able to go to ANY concert on your own and not think about it at all. Enjoy the music and stay safe

I'm planning to go to a rave on my own next month.

My favourite DJ is playing in London (a once a year event typically) and none of my friends are free.

I'm actually a bit nervous, but not because I'm worried what people might think, more that there won't be anyone to look after me if I don't feel well. The venue is the opposite end of London to where I live too. I'm considering staying sober!

I have done this and never given it a second thought.
If I want to go somewhere (see a band, show etc) and no-one is available I will just go on my own.
Never had an issue.

Not in my experience. I don't find men who would harass women are interested in 40 somethings, they'll be trying to hit on women young enough to be their daughter.

Fabulous op I've done this a few times! I'd only be super careful re drinks and get safely home. It's liberating
