Fungal, yeast or bacterial?

Sorry about the grossness but without seeing a dr / having swabs done, how can I know if a skin infection should be treated as if fungal or bacterial? I think I might be making it worse but I don’t have time for dr.
it’s in the creases in my groin (not actual vulva, more literal bikini line)
I’ve had it before when run down and had anti bs prescribed.
im wearing men’s long leg trunks for comfort and sudocrem isn’t working. So deeply unsexy
what should I do? Nothing is clearing it up

See the doctor for swabs?

Yeah but is there a way you can avoid the whole dr scenario and identify the right otc treatment

Google 'intertrigo' OP, and look at pictures.

Does it look like that?

It's very likely to be fungal.

I'd try some canestan athletes foot cream - if it is fungal you should see an improvement within a few days. Don't think sudocream will do much for anything so worth swapping for a few days.

This is what I would try first.

I’ve found steroid cream to be the best bet at first. You’ll see an improvement within a couple of days with whatever you choose if it’s the right one.

Ok thanks I’ll try the canesten and steroid stuff - if it’s not funga will it make it worse?

thanks for the “intertrigo” tip. Never going on the internet again.
