Wouldn't buy an oyster. Most people just use contactless now I think.

Isn’t travelling cheaper with an Oyster?

is there any decent annual passes?

Oyster is only cheaper if you’re entitled to some very specific discounted travel (e.g a child or pensioner).

How much do you want to spend? And where are they moving to? London is a big place… A gift voucher to a local restaurant or attraction could be a cute idea.

Whilst it can be, I think buying a travel card is a personal choice - you don’t know the routes she may take and I think that’s more of a household expense as opposed to a gift. (My last comment was a joke!)

Loads of annual passes
What are they looking forward to access to in London?

A membership for one of the main museums/art galleries, if your friend has any interest in art?

menopausalmare · 19/10/2024 17:55

Treasure trail map or treasure hunt, 'who pushed Molly May' to get her exploring London with friends.

London pubs guide

Cuppachuchu · 19/10/2024 18:02

A London restaurant guide?

Needmorelego · 19/10/2024 18:05

I-Spy Book of London so she can explore.
But really.....what are her interests?
What's she going to likely be wanting to do in London?

PinkArt · 19/10/2024 18:10

Depending on your budget and their interests, a National Art Pass card? Lots of discounts for exhibitions, galleries, museums etc if that's their thing. Or a voucher for Today Tix of they like theatre. Or a Pret voucher for lunches and coffees while they are out exploring!
Personally, I wouldn't do with any of the book suggestions these days. I've bought several over the years but would just look things up online now.

AlienLady · 19/10/2024 18:56

She’s into history and exploring, not necessary art.
shes moving to the docklands.
my husband suggested a UberEats card?

Don't get her a food or drink voucher, it has no relevance to her new location
