Would you book the cheap hotel?

Me and partner are going away on holiday next month.
We always stay in the airport hotel as it saves the stress of driving 2 hours to the airport and parking etc as my dad drops us off at the airport hotel night before.
Anyway 2 options
Premier inn £60 -stayed here before it's fine ,quite noisy as the walls are thin as paper and noisy floorboards.
Or the Hilton £119
Stayed here many times and love it
Never hear any noise
Lovely rooms
More expensive

Our flight isn't till 11am so we can wake up at 7 and enjoy breakfast at the hotel

Anyway partner is all for premier inn cheap and cheerful
I love the Hilton as it's just nicer
He says if you stay at premier inn you can treat yourself in duty free with difference.
After work we won't be at hotel till around 6.30pm
What would you do ?

Presumably you'll go to bed relatively early so I'd go for the cheaper option.

KenAdams · 19/10/2024 11:33

Premier Inn is fine for the airport

frozendaisy · 19/10/2024 11:33

Hilton, as you are intending on being there most of the evening and lazy morning it's worth the extra, work it out per waking hour, £7 ish, £3.50 each.

Unless it was a real stretch I'd choose the Hilton just for the breakfast tbh. I love a Hilton breakfast, so much better than the PI attached restaurants.

Fucketbucket · 19/10/2024 11:35

In these circumstances I'd go with the premier in.

mindutopia · 19/10/2024 11:35

I think airport hotels are generally pretty grim. If I wasn’t travelling until 11am, I’d skip the whole thing and just go in the morning. But if I had to choose, I’d probably go for the premier inn. I can’t really justify spending significantly more on something I know I wouldn’t enjoy anyway.

There wouldn't be much time for a lazy morning as the flight is at 11. Presumably they'll need to leave the hotel at about 8/8.30am.

pizzaHeart · 19/10/2024 11:42

Are you a light sleeper and how are you after the bad night?
if you are sure to get a relatively okeish sleep out of PI - go for it and then go to the airport early to have time for coffee.
I would get a taxi in the morning straight to the airport though but it’s just me

VWGal · 19/10/2024 11:44

Premier Inn beds are wa more comfortable than Hilton beds.

GreekGod · 19/10/2024 11:46

Hilton 100% , I look at what I pay on takeaways and am horrified, so would rather spend the additional 60 on a nice hotel plus Hilton breakfasts are lovely in my view

tinkerwoman · 19/10/2024 11:47

We don't drive on the morning as we would have to leave at 6 am to get there for 8 am /8.30 and hope there was no traffic
Would rather stay at the hotel and have a little in

I'd pay more to get an uninterrupted night sleep and breakfast. If PI would probably eat breakfast at the airport which could cost much of the difference,

redtrain123 · 19/10/2024 11:49

I’d go Premier inn for one night. Cheap and cheerful. You’re only in the hotel for 12-14 hours or so.

tinkerwoman · 19/10/2024 12:44

I've said to myself if I can make £50 on vinted in the next few weeks I will treat myself to the Hilton
Saying that it's not that special really
You get a warm cookie ha ha

I'd pick Premier Inn - nicer beds and I've not stayed in a bad one yet.

Just saying - If I wanted breakfast and a nice chilled start to my holiday I'd pick Marriott 😁

PullTheBricksDown · 19/10/2024 12:55

Won't you have to get to the airport for 8? Doesn't sound like there's much time for a leisurely breakfast so on that basis I'd go PI.
