Actors who lie about their age

I went to school with a girl who is now an actress. She has starred in Hollywood films, prime time tv show etc.

She is now several years younger than she was when we were in school together, according to Wikipedia/IMDB. How is this allowed to stand, given how easy it would be to track down her birth or marriage certificate?

It's very common for women in the public eye to lie about their age. I believe it's seen as 'feminine'.

Why don’t you edit the wiki page to show the correct info?

I don't know her exact birthday to edit it. Nor does it really bother me that much! But she is apparently now younger than her younger brother!
