I exercise a lot. I'm petite. So why is my ass so fat still?

Postmenopausal, 80% clean eating (and def not overeating, very low carb); strength workouts at least 3 times a week. Cardio 1. Skipping at end of every strength workout. Walk the dog. Try to do my steps across the week. Don't drink. Prioritise sleep.

My waist is ok. My stomach is okay. My ass is fat. Not huge but def not nearly small enough for my liking. Thighs are fatter than they used to be.

I hate it. It makes me miserable and yes, I know it's a first world problem.

Is it a diet thing? Cardio thing? Am I harking back to a time gone? Or am I missing a trick.

Is it definitely fat and not muscle mass?

Cerialkiller · 18/10/2024 18:21

Are you at a weight you like? If so it's will just be your body type and genetic fat distribution.

If it makes you feel better I would love for my arse to be where my fat accumulates, it's very fashionable to have a curvy bum.

My fat goes to my arms and back. None to the bum unfortunately.

It doesn't feel muscle mass and the trainer I use (through an app) says it's actually pretty hard to 'grow muscles, grow glutes' in your ass (

I'm probably half a stone heavier than I'd like but will probably look a lot more my age if I went down. I had a big bum as a teen, then managed to get it down in my 'prime years'...and now it's back. I hate it, trend or no trend

Honestly, even at my skinniest my ass still wobbled. I've accepted that's where I carry my weight. It's really not a bad thing!!

It's just your natural body shape/type. If you are healthy and fit learn to live with it. I'm sure it's lovely!

If you are post menopausal and your waist and stomach are slim and toned then I would say your larger ass is surely a gift from god? I say that as someone whose waist and stomach have thickened, and who lives in fear of the flat shrunken butt that often puts the nail in the coffin of looking good.

😂It doesn't feel like a Gift from God
