Travelling with 16 yo's

Just wanted help with a. Question..
I'm looking to travel abroad next year , possibly Turkey for a holiday with my two 16 year olds.
Just wanted to know if anyone has managed to book two rooms. One for myself and another for two 16 year olds? Whether this is allowed or not?
I'll be travelling alone with them so can't put it under another adults name.
But would like to us have our own personal rooms

Thanks

We are a family of 4 who have done many city breaks always booking 2 rooms with the intention of us having one and the boys the other. When both DS's were both under 18 some hotels wanted us to have one adult and one child in each room which we always agreed to but never complied and never had a problem.

With only one adult it would be difficult if a hotel has a no under 18 alone policy so I think you need to check the specific hotels before you book as I think policies can vary.

An alternative we have used in the past is to book 'family rooms' where there is a separate space. Eg separate bedroom and space in living area with sofa beds.

Thank you I think I will check with hotels first about their room policy and age

I found it impossible for a trip tomorrow. Luckily just one under 18 child.

As DD is not comfortable on a sofa bed, we share a twin room but friends managed to book a 2-bed suite. Very expensive though.

Some of my friends now book s/c accomodation until the first one turns 18.

I've been able to book 2 bedroom duplexes in Paris last year and Tunisia this year.

Check policies as suggested. If your 16 year olds are daughters, be wary of some sleazy Turkish men seeking to engage them in conversation.

I just booked a 16 yo in as an adult.

Hotels ask for passports so will know they are 16. Lots of hotels have family rooms (voyage belek have a main bedroom off another twin room, both with bathrooms). Or they might have their own policies on age.

If you can't find somewhere that allows totally separate bedrooms, try Jet2Holidays for family rooms.

The search will give you options and prices for whatever the smallest room for the three of you is (probably a 1 bed apartment), but then in the Room tab you can see bigger rooms and change to them.

We have stayed in several 2-bed apartments in hotels with Jet2Holidays. They definitely seem the best for multi-bedroom hotel rooms!

Id have a look at trying to book a family room that has two separate bedrooms in one unit

Ours didn’t ask for passports, but I may just have been lucky.

I suppose it depends on the hotel but I've booked a suite before. It had bedroom with en-suite and separate lounge area with a sofa bed and another bathroom. Teens had their privacy I had my own space.

edwinbear · 18/10/2024 13:05

Might be able to book inter-connecting rooms?

Singleandproud · 18/10/2024 13:10

Not Turkey but Royal Apartments in Los Gigantes in Tenerife have 2/3 bedroom suites and aren't that expensive, you can book independently or via TUI. All rooms have a kitchenette along with a shop on site and two restaurants - one fine dining the other buffet. The pool is basic but you can go to Siam Park, or snorkelling on the beach down the hill

Thanks all I will look into these.
