I’ve just picked up a bag from the Co-Op (for the princely sum of £3.29):

24 (twenty-four!!) sausages
1 Hunter’s chicken ready meal
1 sausage and mash ready meal
2 corn on the cobs
1 punnet of plums
1 punnet of mushrooms
1 bag of carrot batons
2 bags of green beans
1 tub of prawn cocktail
2 jumbo sweet potatoes
1 bag of potato wedges

Best one I’ve had so far (DP can have the filthy prawn cocktail, though 🤢)

That's amazing. We keep getting tuna sandwiches from local bakeries. Apparently no-one in the area likes them, we don't either! Aldi one was the worst though, about 10 pints of skimmed milk and two lots of beetroot salad.

Jayinthetub · 17/10/2024 21:10

Wrights Pies (Midlands version of Greggs - but better) £4.50
Cream and Jam doughnut
Cheese and onion pasty
Corned beef pasty
Bacon and cheese slice
Steak pie
Meat and potato pie
Vegetable slice

Was delicious!!

I got one from Booths and it was absolute rubbish!

A huge selection of Sushi from the Yo sushi counter in the local tesco.
And a costa bag for £3 full of 4 different sandwiches.

bettybyebye · 17/10/2024 21:23

Great one from Sushi Gourmet yesterday - 2 large boxes of sushi for £5.
Cinnabon last week - 4 huge cinnamon rolls and 6 chocobons for £6.60
awful one from Morrisons a few weeks ago - 2 loaves of GF bread, 5 black
bananas and 2 small punnets of grapes! Luckily I have a cousin who is coeliac so the bread went to a good home. And I had an accuse to make banana bread 🤣

Fedupandstressed · 17/10/2024 21:25

My phone won't let me re-upload the app :(

Zen · 17/10/2024 21:28

I got a 10 pack of lager, 4 cans of jack Daniels and coke and 2 bags of giant wotsits. That sorted out my 18 year old and his mates.

Heelworkhero · 17/10/2024 21:28

I got one from Costa a couple of years ago. I arrived and they just picked two small cakes of the (full) shelves and put them in a bag.
They weren’t leftovers, it was just a way to get you into the shop and pay basically what you would have for 2 cakes, but without any choice.
nNot done it since!

Comedycook · 17/10/2024 21:30

My favourite is the sushi gourmet ones...get £15 worth for £5 and it's all delicious!

WetBandits · 17/10/2024 22:29

There’s a corner shop near my work that does 30 bags of crisps for £4, but the collection time is always right in the middle of my clinic list so I’ve never been able to get it! Although I’m sure my colleagues would happily cover a patient or two for me if it meant I could come back with 30 packets of corner shop crisps (the best kind!!) for us all Grin

I'm actually having my first one tonight at 10pm after a few drinks. It's a local Turkish restaurant so have high hopes!

Best get a backup in though in case it's a kilo of plain cooked rice and lettuce for 2 for £10.

LadyR77 · 18/10/2024 14:15

Haven't done one for ages, but DS was asking if we could get one the other day so I've just reserved one at Greggs to pick up on my way home from work today...hope it's a good one!

Coffee shops are the worst. I paid about £3 for 2 stale croissants from Starbucks. I'd have been better going to Lidl for a couple of fresh pastries of my choosing.

I didn't do too bad at Sushi Daily but I think I'd rather just pay full price for things I actually want.

RudolphsDashing · 18/10/2024 15:00

This thread just reminded me of TGTG. I went on the app and Yo Sushi in Tesco had one bag left, 3-4pm. So I'm off to get it. Will report back! It was £6.75.

Comedycook · 18/10/2024 15:30

I've had some good ones from Greggs. Tried Costa once...was very underwhelming and wouldn't bother again.

NormaSnickers · 18/10/2024 15:49

I got a Krispy Kreme one this week - box of 6 different doughnuts, 2 were filled and 4 were different flavour glazed ring doughnuts including Halloween! Think it was £3.65 - I consider that a bargain!

RudolphsDashing · 18/10/2024 16:20

Right I'm reporting back! Got so much for my money, would definitely do again.

BIG box of salmon avocado crunchy rolls
Chicken gyozas
Teriyaki chicken (the big box)

bettybyebye · 18/10/2024 16:41

ooh that sounds great @RudolphsDashing! I have always been tempted by the yo sushi kiosk ones but was worried it wouldn’t be as good as Sushi Gourmet…will get one for me and DS next week 😊

justasking111 · 18/10/2024 17:49

Added the app. Not much today. Bakery stuff. But we live in a backwater.

lostoldname · 18/10/2024 19:24

Had some great Sushi in the past and bakery from Nero’s. Almost tempted to buy the surprise bag from Cluck Shack.

justasking111 · 18/10/2024 20:06

Just spoken to my son about it his partner works in Leeds he's a student. He said that you have to be on the ball. Stuff gone in minutes in Leeds. I'm not sure I could be that into it

Gelasring · 18/10/2024 20:11

Tim Horton's - half a dozen donuts and a box of tim bits for a fiver.

Our Greggs is generally good too - you get a lot for about 2.50

WetBandits · 18/10/2024 20:26

We had a Toby Carvery one a couple of weeks ago. They gave us enough food in two pots (so £6 total) to do dinner, and the leftovers for lunch, for both of us! The only ball-ache is it’s a 9pm collection.

Blimey! That's quite a haul! 24 sausage rolls! 😱 When the 'Too Good To Go' scheme first started,I got a few Magic Bags from Greggs, which to begin with, were fine. A tuna baguette, egg mayo sandwich,a vegetable bake and a cake of some sort, which for £2.59,was good value. Then I kept being given baguettes/sandwiches/rolls with ham in. I hate ham even naice ham so I stopped bothering with them.

24 actual sausages! We used eight for sausage casserole yesterday and the rest have gone in the freezer Grin
