Is this some kind of weird virus, really awful headache.

As someone who doesn’t suffer from headaches I do find the sudden onset of one quite anxiety inducing but hoping just some kind of weird virus,

A few nights ago I had an ice drink after dinner while watching TV and all of a sudden this weird headache came on, it was/is just above my right eye but can also feel through the top of my head, it was so bizarre I literally went from feeling absolutely fine to feeling I must have given myself brain freeze.

It carried on through the night and took a while for me to fall asleep through it but in the end I did. Woke up the the next again day went to work as normal and it was back. It was so distracting I left work early and spent the rest of the afternoon on the sofa.

Today it’s better but still there and I feel quite weir's, hot eyes, a bit achey, no energy like I’m at the brink of something.

It’s such a weird sensation, it’s probably not the most painful headache in the word but when I move in certain ways like a an electric current runs up a nerve and so localised to one area.

Very unusual for me so thought I’d check if anyone had had similar.

I did a couple of weeks ago. It was incredibly painful and lasted 7 days which then turned into mild flu. Looking back I think it was probably covid.

I've had this for a week, it feels as though something is pressing on the top of my head and pushing on my eye sockets. Also lots of sneezing! Ibuprofen and paracetamol aren't touching it. Horrible! Hope you feel better soon.

Have you tested for Covid? Always gives me a blinding headache

merryandbrightdelight · 17/10/2024 19:52

I had similar last week, it lasted about 3/4 days. The second day was the worst for me, I was literally lying on the couch at an angle and the pain was shooting in my head, my sinuses, everywhere. I felt fine otherwise, it was just the headache. Like you I struggled to fall asleep with it - I felt like my brain was rattling round in my head. Hope you feel better soon op

I've had a week of horrid headaches, tested positive for covid.

BedBathAndBeyonce · 17/10/2024 19:57

Same, lasted 7 days and ibuprofen / paracetamol didn’t touch it. It was roughly a week after I’d stopped testing positive for a rough bout of covid though.

The two times I've have Covid (that at least I know of) it has started with a horrendous headache to the point it's only relieved by vomiting before moving on to normal cold/flu symptoms

XenoBitch · 17/10/2024 20:48

I had this a few weeks ago. Horrid head pain and eye pain. I also sneezed a lot, and it caused shooting pain in my head. I was also very achy, and my left nostril was like a tap.
Not sure if it was Covid as I didn't test.

Yes I've had headaches with a flu like virus. Various symptoms spread over a fortnight. I'm still recovering from fatigue. It was Covid19. New strain XEC part of omicron family
