What do about door company not coming back to fix problem

There was a new front door put in about 5 or 6 weeks ago. The locking mechanism has stopped working now. I called the door company that we ordered from and who fitting the door. There was someone supposed to be out to me on Tuesday morning however it wasn't until Tuesday evening when someone came.

I was gone to work but my mother was at home to deal with it.

The man came in and had a look at the door and said he will be back tomorrow (yesterday) to adjust the door.

So yesterday came and went but nobody rang me or came to the house.

Also I think my mother ought have dementia and she's so odd now when anyone calls so I don't know if she made sour bitter faces to your mam on Tuesday evening and just scared him off init coming back. If only they came when I was there in the morning like what they said they would.

Anyways about 1700 was spent on a new door in August and now it doesn't lock.

Will I get back onto the company to come out and fix it? They were supposed to come yesterday.

There's still no contact from the door company. I presumed they would have rang or called by now.

I assume you rang them when nobody turned up? What did they say?

If your mum has dementia she shouldn't be responsible for sorting out any workmen.

That's annoying. I'm not sure how anyone can know whether they will come back. Why not call them to check?

My mother doesn't have a diagnosis. However she's doing some odd stuff and I would put money on dementia but so far GPs and doctors are writing off my concerns. The majority of my observations has been behavioural and mood based about her and GPs are citing memory loss. She's getting worse but it's not so bad yet either. She can still do a lot of daily living tasks but there's still a lot of stuff that's not going right.

Without a diagnosis my hands are tied. I am not her carer and I get her care in without a diagnosis. I can't afford it. She likely won't take it either. It's like a car crash.

I was at home dealing with this and the company said that they will be with me Tuesday morning but they never came. I had to go to work. They decided to come at about 4 pm on Tuesday and my mother was at home.

They haven't been back since and they never responded to my email either.
