What to get an 18 year old boy for his birthday?

It's a friend's son that I haven't actually seen for a couple of years (the son) but I want to get a little 'minding' as my mum always called it. I've no idea what to get.

Honestly, he’d be thrilled with cash. I wouldn’t even attempt to guess what an 18 year old who you don’t even really know is into. They are very fickle at that age. But money is always much appreciated.

God I can't even remember what age he is, he's 21! 🙈

Yeah, cash would be the best thing. Men are hard to buy for even when they sleep in your bed for twenty years, never mind the adult son of a mate you haven't seen for yonks. 🤣
A card with ten/twenty quid, or a bit more if you can afford it would be greatly appreciated I'm sure. Any gift is bound to be not what he likes or he has it already.
