I regularly dream about them. In the dream I am somewhere like on a bus trip or in a restaurant and they randomely appear. Its very vivid.

I dream about my dead parents quite regularly. I don't think it's unusual at all.

goingdownfighting · 15/10/2024 20:12

All the time. It's usually me and my dad having a chat. I love them.

MammaKel · 15/10/2024 20:13

Yes but he's always alive in my dreams like I don't know he's dead but it's nice.

CoastalCalm · 15/10/2024 20:14

All the time , it’s odd as my mum is desperate to dream about dad since he passed but never has but I’d say it’s most nights for me , I like it

WorriedMillie · 15/10/2024 20:17

Yes, my dad often features in my dreams, I find it comforting ❤️

PeggyMitchellsCameo · 15/10/2024 20:18

I love both of my late parents turning up! It’s really strange as my mum died before I met DP and she will be sitting with him having a cuppa!
I like to think it’s their way of visiting me!

Canalboat · 15/10/2024 20:19

Yes all the time. I feel a bit disappointed and sad when I wake up but ultimately I’m glad I dream about them often.

Seasonsofmists · 15/10/2024 20:20

I do. I was told it’s a sign that you’re moving through your grief. However long it has been for you OP, I’m sorry for your loss x

greenday16B · 15/10/2024 20:20

Its very unsettling for me. it seems to go on a bit of a run , then stop. Odd feeling.
Thankfully ,they are not distressing.

of course.
yesterday I was being my mum’s shopping in in my childhood home . I don’t know why I couldn’t find the loo 🤣

Newterm · 15/10/2024 20:22

I dream that mum is still alive and very old and that I’ve not remembered to see her or look after her for months. It’s awful. I’m always relieved to wake up.

Septembe66 · 15/10/2024 20:22

I lost both when I was 18 within 4 weeks and I dream of them all the time. It’s not like a dream it’s like they’ve just popped in for a cup of tea and we talk about things that are happening. I don’t call it a dream I call it a visit

Onedaynotyet · 15/10/2024 20:23

No, I have lost some very dear people and would love to dream of them, but never have.

ExitPursuedByABare · 15/10/2024 20:25

Yes. I love them popping up in my dreams.

WearyAuldWumman · 15/10/2024 20:26

Fairly often. I very rarely see my late husband, who died 3 years ago.

Words · 15/10/2024 20:26

I don't find it especially distressing or surprising really. I know my dead rellies haven't'passed' anywhere however, so maybe that helps a bit.

I did wonder about my choice of wording. Didn't want to cause any upset.

I do sometimes, and I always feel happy to have been with them again even though it’s only in a dream.

pinkdelight · 15/10/2024 20:31

Very often and I find it comforting. In fact as I haven't lived near them for years, quite often it feels the same as when my dad was alive, as I didn't see him day-to-day but I dreamt of him a lot then too. It doesn't feel so different really.

EnjoyingTheSilence · 15/10/2024 20:31

Mainly my dad but I see one of my nans too. I find it really comforting, especially dad. It’s been over 7 years now and I miss him so much.

No problem Greenday. I am not easily offended.
I just happen to utterly loathe the euphemism and what it assumes.
You can't go wrong with just plain dead, however beloved they were.

TheTecknician · 15/10/2024 20:32

All the time. I'm fine with it. Not just parents but pets and friends and people from long ago whom I no longer see.

@Seasonsofmists

Any suggestions of how to make it happen? Move forward??

I've only dreamt about my Dad a tiny few times. I'd love to dream about him more.🤗

im sorry for everyone's losses xx

BackH0me · 15/10/2024 20:37

I do but it’s horrible when I wake up and realise my dad isn’t there.
