HRT...weight loss or weight gain?

I've had no periods for 4 years and the dr says I've gone through the menopause. I've had no hot flushes or mood swings etc but I have put on weight that I can't shift. Someone suggested HRT helps to regulate body fat. Have any of you noticed an increase or decrease in weight?

Personally I doubt HRT on its own would make you lose weight and some women do gain weight on it.

I have seen Louise Newson (Menopause Doctor) suggest some women may lose weight but it is because they feel better as their menopause symptoms resolve so may exercise more and eat better.

There is a suggestion that, in menopause, we process carbs less well. Have you tried reducing carbs in your diet to see if that may help? I went on a low carb diet a while back and my hot flushes vanished so it may be helpful

@QueenOfHiraeth I literally have zero menopause symptoms like flushes etc but have really struggled with weight gain. I lost 10 stone pre menopause and have put 4 back on which seems ridiculous. I already follow a low carb diet and exercise well. I drink lots of water but I would say my sleep has been affected since the menopause. I'm at a loss of what to do.

It's very individual but I don't think I would be considering HRT for this.
Often our bodies are resistant to weight loss and regain is common (often even after bariatric surgery which gives big losses like yours)
Have you read about cortisol? That is affected by poor sleep. Ashwagandha and Magnesium are often recommended in menopause but I don't know much about that
Good luck
