I've found out I'm pre-diabetic so want to try new things to find out what I enjoy and could stick at. Tried Clubbercise this morning and will go will back (very fast so I couldn't quite keep up with routine, but physically wasn't as bad as I thought). I'm now spurred on to try new things though so looking for inspiration/ideas.

I guess my fitness wise if anything is withing a couple of miles of home I walk instead of car, go on a bike ride or hill walk (very steep😣) each every couple of months, and do a weekly conditioning class and have two part-time active jobs.

I do circuits
Zumba
Yoga x 3
Pilates x 2
Boxing

Plus any other classes I can get on/fit in.

AgathaX · 14/10/2024 15:57

Gym/weights, walking every day, swimming.

canyon2000 · 14/10/2024 16:23

I go cross-country running and do some weights at home. I also walk the dog 6 miles a day.

Fast walking (5-8 miles most days) and Pilates.

TheNoonBell · 14/10/2024 16:57

Lots of walking up and down hills, 30-60 minutes a day, nearly every day. With the odd pub visit for morale.

gingercat02 · 14/10/2024 17:07

I don't do enough, but pilates 60mins x1 fitsteps 45mins x1 PiYo 60mins x1.
I try to walk on my non class days.
I'm 55 and work 30h. Too much time on the sofa 😢

MiddleAgedDread · 14/10/2024 17:08

You need to be lifting weights as well as doing cardio.

DaintyYellowShoes · 14/10/2024 17:12

Running.

SirChenjins · 14/10/2024 17:13

Not as much as I should - long hours at a sedentary job. I do Pilates and walk the dog.

Hoolihan · 14/10/2024 17:14

The only exercise I even vaguely enjoy is swimming.

Arran2024 · 14/10/2024 17:15

I do aqua zumba three times a week plus tai chi twice. I also walk the dogs every day.

EmpressaurusDeiGatti · 14/10/2024 17:16

Cardio & weights 3 mornings a week, yoga 1 evening a week.

StellaOlivetti · 14/10/2024 17:20

I do Zumba, and play netball, table tennis and pickleball. I prefer playing a game to doing a workout/going to a gym. I used to love running, but I had a hip replacement last year, so that’s out.

catscatscurrantscurrants · 14/10/2024 17:27

Weights and an exercise bike at home, walking and gardening.

Startingagainandagain · 14/10/2024 17:28

I am 53 and I do Pilates, swimming, horse riding and I just started doing regular small runs in my local park.

cardibach · 14/10/2024 17:29

Weights. Walking. Running if your joints are up to it.
But diet will have more effect. Good fats, reduced sugars.

CheshireCats · 14/10/2024 17:32

Walking 4-6 miles per day on hilly terrain.

Cherrysoup · 14/10/2024 17:38

Swimming and badminton.

unsync · 14/10/2024 17:39

Three hours of Pilates a week, aqua x 1, stretch & mobility x 2, treadmill and swimming. I also cycle and walk. Now I've lost a bit of weight and am less unfit, I am going to add some resistance in there too. I tried dancercise, but am hopelessly uncoordinated.

If I could, I would do Pilates every day, it is my favourite as it is mentally and physically challenging.

henlake7 · 14/10/2024 17:43

Rebounding x 5
Mini stepper/exercise bike x 5
Weights x 3
Pilates X2
Plus general walking with and without dogs.

I do all of mine at home, moderate intensity and low impact.

Singleandproud · 14/10/2024 17:46

If you liked Clubbercise search on YouTube for Dance workout (+ favourite musician) and you'll get loads of them to do in your own living room / kitchen / bedroom without anyone seeing and you'll soon get faster and it just quite a fun way of spending the evening opposed to sitting on the sofa watching TV.

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 14/10/2024 17:48

God, how do you all have time to do so much?

GrowAndGreen · 14/10/2024 17:49

I cycle for work and work in various sites across my city and manage about 4/10k a day. I also have an outdoors job so am fairly active. I swim and I do yoga - as strength training - considering getting a weighted vest to wear.

Vicliz24 · 14/10/2024 17:59
