I think I've been scammed on Vinted recently. Has anyone experienced something similar and did you get your money back? How is the seller making money if you have to accept the purchase after delivery before the money is released?

Here's what happened:
I brought an item of childrens clothing and recieved a message to say it had been sent by Royal mail less than a minute later and at 6am - too quick even for someone to have brought the postage label online. Tracking number does't work and the sellers account has now been delated so I'm sure its a scam. Money hasn't been refunded though and Vinted says I have to wait 25 days before they will investigate?

yup, I had similar. Seller posted a tracking label but no tracking details and item never arrived.
Sellers account was deleted. TBH it was a £1.80 skirt so I CBA chasing it up.

Same is happening to me. I’m just gonna contact vinted on 25th day … I think you only have 2 days to complain! If you go to orders you can find a help button within the individual order …

Yes.

Bought a jumper on there. Seller uploaded the tracking information and it did arrive but it was just a tiny plastic envelope with a little ‘thank you’ slip inside.

I did get a refund but I had to really argue with Vinted. They said parcel had been delivered - end of discussion. Fortunately I had taken photos of it, including the address label which showed the weight of the parcel - in the end they had to concede that it was highly unlikely a jumper would fit in such tiny packaging and only weigh 61g.

I've had it once and it was my own stupid fault. I bought a pair of headphones and never noticed that they had no reviews. I received a paper plate. Since then I've been very careful and never had any problems.

Vinted are completely and unashamedly uninterested in customers being scammed on their site. If someone sells you a broken item even knowingly sending you very damaged or faulty items you still have to return the item at cost to yourself unless the seller (scammer) agrees to pay. Which doesn't happen as what scammer is going to pay to have their trash sent back to them?

I've bought several things off vinted that contained fake pictures on the listing. And even though I took pictures of the dammaged/significantly not as described items to vinted they still sided with the seller. What's the point in paying for buyer protection?

Vinted are not concerned. They make it your responsibility that you have been scammed. Works out better for them I suppose 🫤 as if you have to return at your own cost and time you are less likely to return. So they get to make money off the transaction regardles. They seem to like it that way and have no care for making it any different 😥

A few of the scammers I bought off had really good reviews too. But I suppose when they get to that point they can send what they like and vinted will side with them regardless. It's a shame because vinted is a good idea in principle. Just ran by a big company that don't care about their customers.
