Portrayal of bereavement on Young Sheldon

Does anyone watch this? I've watched it all the way through and enjoyed it. I was in a similar situation to Mary in it as dh died in a similar way, out of the blue while away from home when dds were 11 and 13.
I think they did a good job of portraying bereavement. I definitely recognise feeling angry at the person for leaving you, even though it's irrational as they didn't choose to. I also thought Sheldon replaying his last moments with his dad again and again with different endings was so realistic. I used to try and replay things so I could have saved my dh, but of course you never can. I thought Young Sheldon was a great show.

Where have you watched the last season? Netflix only has up to series 6. I really want to see the last season though!

I'm sorry to hear about your dh, I'm sure it must have been quite hard to watch

Thanks. It was 6 years ago and although I was dreading watching it a bit, it was actually OK. I knew it was coming on Young Sheldon as its known from Big Bang Theory that Sheldon's father died when he was 14 and also I'd heard he dies this season as they were ahead in the US with the episodes.
I watch it on E4 channel. They played the last episode yesterday.

I thought it was brilliant. Not overly dramatic but real sadness and shock. Very well written

Oh I need to watch this and didn't realise it was on E4. Hopefully it's on the player.

@Drivingoverlemons it is x

Yay!

I've got them recording from E4 - I'm a bit daft to have read this, we've only seen the first 3. I thought it was going to be Meemaw, me and my daughter's favourite character.

SilentSheldon · 16/10/2024 23:06

The bit that got me was Missy going ‘but he’s gonna be ok, right?’.

It felt real.

Further sadness had with the replaying of alternative last moments.

I thought they dealt with it beautifully.

Life is often peppered with ‘if onlys’ and ‘what ifs’. It was fitting but sad that Sheldon was the same as most of us instead of just being pragmatic and analytical.
