eBay refund - item gone missing - I’m the seller

Hello

I sold an item on eBay and posted using the Evri QR code that eBay sent me. It appears somewhere along the line that the QR code and the parcel got mixed up because the buyer hasn’t received the item and the delivery proof photo is of a different item and not the buyers house.

eBay has already paid the money out to me so I have no available funds, so what will happen if they decide the buyer is owed a refund?

I get that the seller’s currently out of pocket but I will be if I refund despite having proof of sending.

I really don’t find eBay as user friendly as Vinted for sellers so any help appreciated!

There will be a debit against your account so future funds won't be paid out assuming the buyer puts in a claim. However as a seller I've always found ebay to be extremely helpful on the phone so I would call them and say the package delivery photo is not the buyers house. Does Evri have a gps location which might help your case to show it is not the right address?

Thank you @roses2 I will try giving them a call.

The weird thing is the package in the delivery photo isn’t the one I sent, so the package has got lost I assume because it’s not correctly linked to the QR code. I’ll see if there’s GPS info, thanks so much :)
